Processors / Packers
Processors / Packers
A Packer/Processor Licensee has been approved to process or pack Red Tractor products.
By use of the logo, Retailers are given confidence that the products they are buying have been produced to Red Tractor Standards and are safe to eat and produced responsibly.
All Licensees are visited regularly by independent auditors who carry out traceability challenges and check that all processes and systems are in place and working properly. This ensures that the products are eligible to be sold with a Red Tractor claim and that at each and every step of the supply chain our Standards have been met.  Packer and Processor Licensees are in integral part of the Red Tractor supply chain. Before a license is approved licensees must upload the required certificates for food safety, hygiene and animal welfare and must show that all products, (dairy, meat, fresh produce and crops) can be traced back through the supply chain.  Please click here to see why you should be part of the UK's leading scheme for food quality and traceability. You will need to complete an online application for Food Packers and Processors: https://licensing.redtractor.org.uk/users/sign_in The license fee is calculated according to the Retail Sales Value of the product/s you are trading. As a new licensee, this can be estimated in the first year.   As soon as your application has been approved and the license fee has been paid and processed you will be able to download your Certificate.  Within a few weeks of your license being approved our third-party assessor will visit you at an agreed time to carry out a traceability challenge.  The Food Processors and Packers License needs to be renewed every year.  The Food Processors and Packers License is valid for one year, 1st April – 31st March.  Your license fee will be prorated. There will be a mass balance check and if raw material is bought in, quantities will be reconciled against invoices

Food Service
A Food Service License demonstrates to the public that they product you are promoting has been produced in the UK to Red Tractor standards and is fully traceable through the supply chain back to a British Farm.
